** Update on Zip and the Patriot Page ** The Neurological condition which ultimately led to my blindness has been assaulting other parts of my neural system and as such this site has been without update since November. I didn't allow it to prevent attendance from the many Patriot Games to and through the Superbowl but it has taken a significant toll upon my Web based work. It is my hope to have a new more limited look to this page by August when preseason begins. In the meanwhile please know that my dedication to the team is unwavering and my intent to have a worthwhile tribute online remains. So enjoy the two-time World Champions as they prepare for their second title defense with many improvements from the team which remains undefeated in a record approaching pace. This is an easy question for me. Football and specifically the Patriots are a source of great entertainment for me. I started my site in June of 1996 and soon found what a great outlet this was for my enjoyment. Combining my passion for writing with a passion for football and it was a quick merger. I've met many great fans as a result, learned a great deal about html, football and the Patriots all while enjoying myself. I still find the 'work' on my page to be a labor of love and based on the many emails expressing appreciation, I must be doing a few things correct. The occasional bit of angry mail is certainly a downside but fortunately the appreciative fans are more prevalent and as such I'll eagerly continue my page - all the while hoping it's serving you even partially as well as it serves me! A few Zip stats: My love for football bloomed in late high school. Until that point I'd rarely view any sport on television since I far preferred to participate. Even today I'd still prefer to participate but I've developed a strong appreciation for 'watching' the art of football. What intrigues me most about football is the blending of highly complex strategies with the physical prowess of a range of athletic body types. College honed my Patriotic loyalties and upon graduation I immediately purchased season tickets. I have been a season ticket holder since that point in 1988, although I did take a single year off in 1991. That year I did purchase single game tickets to half of the home games. Currently I have an excellent pair of seats. I sit in Section 116, Row 2, Seats 5 and 6 with some top quality fans who you can meet in the Tailgate sections. My seat looks straight down the goal line and I have constantly received benefit from this. Goal line stands are always a great view and many scores are right in front of me. Sure the far endzone can be frustrating but I've sat in the 50 yard line and the endzone, thus far these are the best of all of those seats. I make a big deal of each game. I take a different friend each game and we make an entire day of the event. I park in the same location, raise a Canopy, Patriots flag, and banner to set the groundwork for an impressive tailgate environment. We always fire up the generator and television while the grill begins to warm. Many tailgate extras are best experienced and so I encourage you all to join myself and my compatriots. The only guarantee is that by game time our faces are always painted up while the Patriots flag is my cape as we head down to our seats - well fed - very enthused and ready for Victory! Send me e-mail and I'll get you directions to join us for tailgating Zip style.
